I was really impressed by the pacing of the book, and especially by the way he managed to weave together all the threads from the previous two books, adding in for good measure several other characters and ideas that were first heard of in his earlier Darkweaver series.

I would never suggest I would not appreciate a further book in this world, but the author has branched away with an imminent quartet of dragon quest-styled books, for possibly a younger audience than the I suggest for this Imperial trilogy.

Refresh and try again. In the exciting conclusion to the trilogy, Emperor Surabar is assassinated, and Shalidar makes plans to put Lord Tremarle on the throne, in return for being appointed his heir. The Emperor’s death hasn’t put the two spies off, though.
