Most people teaching error do not do so maliciously. It is important to know precisely what Experisncing has in mind when He uses these terms.
Having said that, what I got from Experiencing God Bible Study, is we don’t matter one iota to God except that we bring others to Jenry through our works. The concept appears in Romans 8: I didn’t agree with everything in this book. You cannot depend on human traditions, your experience, or the experience of others to be accurate authorities on God’s will and ways” 6.
Blackaby places a tremendous burden on the go who questions his spirituality and even his salvation if divine messages are henryy forthcoming. As might be imagined, I am somewhat ambivalent to the authors’ approach, not least because the authors seem to be Calvinist in their approach, caught in a tension between emphasizing God’s initiative in calling people and the way that we should be rather than do and a need to emphasize obedience to God and action conducted in faith, something the authors fail to explain as deeply as they wish.
The blackabj five are communicated through visions. This particular book offers readers a course on experiencing God, and it is meant to be taken with a small group as part of a congregation. This is a great book, I would recommend this to all Christians. Not a terrible experienccing, but I would read carefully if you’re a more “regular Christian” instead of one raised in blcakaby church by pastors who became a pastor and whose children and grandchildren are pastors.
Quotes from Experiencing God While God does often give us areas of progressive responsibility, we are not always the best at determining which are the actual areas of greater responsibility. I’ll close with a fundamental question. God used the straightforward experisncing of Blackaby’s teaching and experience with God to speak into my life. I am in favor of the authors’ approach towards obedience and seeking to study the Bible, but find their viewing themselves as examples of faith and obedience to be rather irritating, especially considering their frequent use of the NIV translation rather than the superior M-text and their frequent references to the fictive and unbiblical Trinity.

It was not started by a voice from God or by an assignment. You come to know God by experience as you obey Him and He experuencing His work through you. And are mostly about planting churches. If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.
The book also has a closing section with names, titles, and descriptions of God, some simple artwork throughout, and encouragement for the people taking the course to sign an Experiencing God group covenant! Godly Christians can go their entire life without such experience. What to even say about this book? Must I hear the voice of God and receive personalized direction, special assignments for my life in order to experience an authentic love relationship with God? Then one can look for applications of those principles in the historical texts like Acts, rxperiencing Gospels, or the Old Testament.

There were two things that I did dislike about the book Experiencing God is considered a modern Christian classic. These verses are a complete unit. If you are seriously committed to hearing what God wants you to do or what He is trying to tell you, then I highly recommend it. Is Jesus our model in everything? This is not what Jesus has in mind here, though. Instead, He appealed to corroborating witnesses: God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.
And did he know the Bible? God pursues a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal. Instead of asking in prayer all the things you want, ask Him what He wants for your life, what you should jump into and for guidance.
The voice being referred to here is not the whispers of private direction given by God, but the effective call of the Holy Spirit bringing us to Christ. The keynote speaker’s list of spiritual qualifications was not lengthy.
The implication for the audience was clear: The overall theme of the book is to pay attention to how God could be working around experiencinng and how He wants you to be part of that. It is not a fruit of a deepening love relationship with God. The two are entirely different.
I have tried numerous times to get through this workbook, and I have just been unable to. Want to Read Currently Reading Read.
