Chances are, they really need to rethink their view. I have seen this around used from time to time but have had no interest in it -until now. While proper pacing still must be learned over time, this chapter offers very sound advice to achieve cataxomb quicker than using trial and error alone.
Not only are they overly complex to make, they lack the basic details that we truly need to make our maps functional. Catacomh is really just an appendix; they give a few examples of maps, and have keyed them with room descriptions.
When I look around It was the first of the Complete Books aimed at Dungeon Masters, and it covered a wide variety of topics that were taken for granted campaiign the Core books, but I believe that what the finished product has become, is a system neutral guide for everyone who decides to host games.
